If the sealskins want the Protavic to not interfere with their conquest, they must be willing to pay. Throughout their history, the beast-bringers have been the ones who have had to pay tribute and kowtow to their neighbouring tribes. Now it is time for our tribe to turn the tables and demand compensation from the Toprocravic. The messenger looks quite displeased when he hears the decision of the great families, but he swears to take this message back to the leaders of his clan.
Within a week, the behaviour of the Toprocravic traders has changed. They do not ask anything in return for the blubber, sealskins and bone carvings that they bring. Instead, they just solemnly offer these luxuries as gifts for the great families. This steady stream of goods continues to flow into Protavic territory, long after our clan learns that the smoke people have been defeated. Their lands have been seized, their people are forced to live alongside their sealskin conquerors and now, the Toprocravic are free to expand along the great river that drains westward, towards the distant sea.
None of this is particularly relevant to our tribe. The Protavic people are being rewarded for turning a blind eye to this conquest and for the next several years, the beast-bringers shall lead carefree lives and want for nothing.
A generation passes.
Many of the Protavic feel as though they have entered a golden age. Their lives are leisurely and relaxed, with plenty of free time that is spent playing games and partaking in decadent feasts, during which they give their thanks to the Allmother and drink their fill of honey water. While most of the tribe are happy to enjoy this period of prosperity, some of the family leaders are concerned that the beast-bringers are becoming indolent. They confer with one another as they try to decide upon a course of action that will benefit the tribe.
So far, most of the votes have revolved around deciding our tribe's reaction to various situations. In order to change the pace a little, I am giving you a break from that. Instead, this vote is an opportunity to be proactive and decide if there is anything in particular that you want our tribe to do.
If you want suggestions, possible options include diplomacy with a tribe of your choice (though I would like to know what you hope to achieve with this diplomacy), expansion in an unorthodox direction (such as into the Grascan or up the riverside towards the Sharoc), a military campaign against a target of your choice (though this will likely lead to a Special Situation) or some other sort of project. It's ultimately up to you guys, though if a write-in is too outlandish or wouldn't work for some reason, I will say so.
>Write in a project that you would like our tribe to undertake, or vote for another write-in that you approve of.
