The monster thought to himself as he opened fire in an arc wide enough in the vertical direction to take aim at every point on the woman's body, in what he assumed would be an unavoidable attack rush. Not that it would do much damage, but he would be satisfied with wounding her pride.
Unfortunately for him, her swordsmanship was on a level of such technical refinement that not a single candy-pellet made it past her defense. It was as though her sword formed a solid field of kinetic armor as she simply stood still and parried every incoming projectile. Realizing this tactic wasn't working, the monster ceased fire.
