<span class="mu-i">“No milord, it’s just…”</span> Mikail regards you curiously<span class="mu-i">“You ain’t never talked that way before.”</span>
<span class="mu-i">“Talked in what way?”</span> You ask, now quite confused.
<span class="mu-i">“Talked about me being a knight.”</span> It is then you realise how wet your squire’s eyes are. His face scrunches up and he turns aside, not holding your gaze. <span class="mu-i">"Proper like, I mean. Like it was actually gonna happen.”</span>
<span class="mu-i">“Well… not that it will be easy...”</span> You cough awkwardly and turn away, giving the boy a chance to sniff and regain his composure. <span class="mu-i">“You do -want- to be a knight, don’t you Mikail?”</span>
<span class="mu-i">“More than anything in the world, my lord.”</span> There it is, in the voice, that stubborn determination. He’ll go far on that, you don’t doubt.
<span class="mu-i">“Good. Not much point in keeping a squire that wanted otherwise around.”</span> Your smile is wide and genuine, it doesn’t take long for your squire to return it. <span class="mu-i">“We can start with your next lesson then…”</span>

> “A knight is a warrior, even when that warrior is in a garden. Appreciate the peace of this calm oasis, yes. But let not tranquillity dull your blade, my young squire. That is a sin that those who aspire to knighthood can ill-afford. Steel your body and mind now, in these times of quiet, so neither will falter when the battlefield finds you.” Mikail is motivated to intensify his training regimen with your help during his time amongst the Knights Comitas stationed here. [Haughty]
> “A knight is a protector of the people. You would do well to learn more about the folk we vow to safeguard. Bread break with the other pilgrims during your time here. Listen well to the tales of the men of the north and the men of the south, talk with the squires of those other knights that have made this journey. You will never find a more diverse group of peoples coming to one location in all your travels.” Mikail is encouraged to socialise and mingle with the pilgrims, at times while waiting on you and at times on his own. [Hearty]
> “A faithless knight is no knight at all. Faith is the fortress from which we sally out to leave our mark on this fallen world. You know your psalms and prayers, boy. That is all well and good, but it is time you heed some of that wisdom that goes beyond mere recitation.” Mikail is inspired to sit in with you on the scripture readings and discourse by the wise holy men and women here, and to spend some more time in the Sanctum by himself.
