After Clover feels the Witch’s cry, she immediately starts running in the opposite direction. Dealing with Witches and going on the hunt was a magical wolf-girl’s true job! The investigation was interesting and all, but it wasn’t going anywhere. Whatever was there at the mall could wait!

As Hermione takes deep breaths, recovering from the intense focus required to maintain precision in all of those shooting exercises, her first instinct is to ignore the Witch. She had her appointment with her mother in roughly three hours, and her soul gem was clean. There was no need to dirty her hands- some other magical girl would handle it, as usual. However, as she thinks further, she realizes that laying claim to a grief seed could provide some rather useful leverage for the future. And, given that she was now capable of reaching out to two other magical girls, it could be a relatively low-risk endeavor.
The girl picks up the revolver, emptying the spent casings, and begins reloading the gun. “Butler! Prepare a bag, and fill it with revolver ammunition. I’ll be heading out on an excursion.”
The man blinks. “…what the fuc- Right away, my lady.” He knew better than to question her, at this point. Especially while she was holding a loaded gun.

Hermione looks carefully at her reflection in the small mirror, making small adjustments here and there to her illusory disguise. If she were going to fraternize with commoners, it’d be best to do so with an identity more appropriate for their ilk. Appearing as a Rockefeller would be demeaning to the family name, and one never knew how those irrational peasants would react to the idea of working alongside someone with true wealth and prestige.
