You answered just as Kari did. Puki displayed a mischievous smile.
<span class="mu-i">"So, Bubu... you heard the two of them, they'd love to have you as part of their family! But you can't marry them both! If you got to pick, which one would it be?"</span>
Bubu had that dumb look to him while thinking about it.
"I don't know... but even if I marry somebody else, I'll still come visit to wake them both up!"
You felt as if a stone struck your heart, though at the same time somewhat relieved. Kari seemed to feel the same.
The next morning, as expected, Bubu woke you and Kari up... but then you went back to sleep anyway. You woke to the smell of egg cheese tacos, made by Bubu with a fire he lit just outside of your tent. Though made by Bubu, they were gifts from Puki's Pappy and Baba. After eating your breakfast, you repaid the favor by feeding the ducks. Quack quack.
You said farewell to the Gravies for the morning, promising to return tonight after your labors. Puki was known to avoid labor parties, but it seemed she was interested in you and Kari so she tagged along for the day. You walked to the village center where all the villagers gathered before being assigned their duties. The elders welcomeed you by name, recognizing that you stayed over as guests a few times as Little Ones. Even some of the Little Ones flock to you, calling you "Chi Rika". The village felt happy to receive you as guests and were happier to hear that you came to participate in their labor day.
You had fun performing normal duties like you did at home, but as the sun reached as high as it could in the sky, it was time to rest from the heat and enjoy some lunch! You walked back to the village center with other Youthies and were given mashed corn wrapped in a leaf. The elders gave you extra to take back to your posts, and on your way back you came across a chunky fox in the middle of the path. It sat there as if it was waiting for you.
You...
>Give it some of your mashed corn before heading off back to work.
>Leave the rest of your mashed corn on the path before heading off back to work.
>Stay with the fox to feed it your mashed corn.
>Throw your mashed corn to the side to get it out of the way.
>Ignore it because it looks a bit fat...
