>>5677957You swing your arm, firing forth a blade of reality-warping energy that cuts through the very air itself, rending reality. Kars sees this, yet somehow your blade slashes him well before the magical attack itself reaches him. Seems your reality-cutting magic can actually hurt Stands, good to know.
“What the-?” Kars exclaims as his body falls apart, his upper and lower body separating cleanly along the slash. You watch as he drops, but are sure this isn't over yet. So, as he falls, you ready another spell, drawing your right arm back.
“Maximize Magic: Gravity Maelstrom!” you shout, firing a black ball of gravity at the halved creature. Kars sees this coming, but instead of dying to the blast instead shouts out 'Kai Kai'. And just before your spell could finish him off, his body vanishes. Your spell slams into the ground, consuming his legs and lower body before cratering the ground and dispelling. “Tch.”
“Not a bad attack.” comes Kars's voice from behind you, you turning to see his upper body floating in the air. And before your eyes his lower body regenerates, even his clothes reappearing and after a second it is as if your attack never happened. “I really need to learn how to use magic myself, one of these days. But now is where we part ways. Kai Kai.”
The man disappears, you realizing immediately that he has to have opened the door. You turn, just in time to see the doors swinging back shut. And with only a moment to react, you use another staple spell of any great spellcaster.
“Greater Teleportation!” you shout, teleporting into the room before the vault door closes. You reappear inside, and instantly your jaw drops. “N-Nani?!”
“Quite the sight, isn't it?” Kars says from beside you, looking at the massive stockpile of wealth. Shelves line the walls going hundreds of meters up, treasures covering them as far as you can see. Golden coins are scattered across the floor as well, perhaps more than a foot deep at their deepest. But they seem to be the lesser treasures, stacked haphazardly together in comparison to the rest of the room. Statues of different beings are placed intermittently between large, clear cases, each one holding what seems to be a different sort of weapon. Swords, axes, spears, and other weapons you can't identify are held in these sealed cases. You even see one holding what look to be a collection of different energy sword handles as well! It is like the ancient British museums back on your original planet, except instead of housing the treasures of one world's empires, he has the plunder from hundreds of different planets all in one place. “He's been looting worlds for centuries, no mortal collection even comes close to rivaling the Cold Clan's wealth of conquest. Centuries of death, all proudly put on display here.”
