>>5361691You sense a powerful magical aura emanating from Echeverria. A dark presence, you’ve sensed this feeling once before. It was back when you faced Solon. The man in front of you is a pale imitation of Solon, but there’s no mistaking what this dread is. Claude’s hunch paid off. For the first time in over five years, one of “Them” stands before you.
Echeverria raises his hands to the sky, and two explosions rock the road behind him. The first explosion occurs in the wagon just behind the one he emerged from. Wooden shrapnel shoots out in a flurry as from inside, a Demonic Beast grows to its full size. Further back, another wagon explodes in a similar manner as another Demonic Beast emerges. The second beast appears directly behind the line of caravan guards that were engaged with your men, and promptly crushes and flattens through them. These Demonic Beasts look like the ones that you’d fought before, with a slight alteration. They’d had some sort of mask grafted onto their head, further increasing their defense against oncoming attacks.
>“A callous disregard for the lives of your own men…and the ability to summon Demonic Beasts. I had a feeling I was dealing with one of your kind. I’m grateful you chose to reveal yourself through your actions…rather than showing me that disgusting face of yours.”The “merchant” smirks. “What have we here? I thought I might spare you as fodder for my experiments, but if you know that much already, I certainly cannot allow you to live.”
The closest Demonic Beast finishes shaking the debris off himself and faces you.
