I can say for sure that static is something that should not be trifled with; it's linked with mind control and can take control of our reality.
It's used a lot with paranormal activity. Most famously, there was a show called Candle Cove that many kids swore that they watched, but it was nothing but pure static.
As for what it can mean in this context, I think it can be the essence of what being animatronic can be like. They most likely target them as a way for them to get revenge. A robotic fursuit built to entertain through rigid movements won't suffice with a human that constantly thinks 24/7. You'll have immortality, sure, but you'll most likely be dead if nothing more.
The soul, meanwhile, can't operate in such a matter. It'll most likely need to be downgraded to hell just to fit in with everything else, the excess being directed to someplace, but this only happens after their resurrection and is often painful. Usually, they become physical, revealing hellscapes that can alter your perception of time and reality while also giving away some memories of the ones who died. Judging by the nature of these animatronics, the ritual will most likely combine them with electricity and the childhood innocence that once was.
