Toriyama before he went crazy already said the Tsufruians made things like the scouters before being adapted by Gichamu. So it wouldn't be farfetched if the laser guns, battle jacket armor, spaceships, etc, came from the Tsufruians but reverse engineered by the Frieza Force. This adds more consistency to the entire ordeal and justifies Frieza's family having an interest in planet Plant long before the Saiyan uprising.
Also, we already have what Ancient Saiyan armor looks like on multiple venues, and the Tsufruians were already studying Saiyans. So it isn't farfetched to say that they still inspired them to make the battle jacket series.
