>>5314348Into the dimly lit halls, the first few mobs you encounter are challenging to say the least. If you were solo, it’d probably take at least a day to accustom yourself to this new difficulty. Each minor slip up forces you two to leash pulls and progress is slow, but with each slain monster, you feel yourself getting better and better. It’s a greatly satisfying feeling.
Two hours later, you’re a decent way into the final ring. From all directions, you hear sounds of constant battle, some from PVE, others clearly from PKing. You can’t say you’re not exactly nervous right now. At any moment you could bump into a group. Your tension reaches its zenith as Skyfrost abruptly stops.
“The boss room is just ahead.” He points out. “It’s a wide open, circular space. We’re lucky no one ambushed us on the way here, but there will be many groups camping out, waiting for some suckers to initiate the boss.”
You thought as much. “What’s the plan?”
“Are you familiar with the mechanics of The Nameless High-Alchemist?” He asks.
“It’s a three phase fight. In the first phase, he periodically throws out explosive pills that leave a high damage acidic poison on the ground and leaves a DOT on players when stepped on. At 60% health, the fight swaps to the second phase. The boss consumes a forbidden pill and receives an increase in damage and attack speed. Moreover, a putrid miasma starts seeping from his pores that applies a strong DOT when inhaled. Finally, in the third phase, at 20% health, he swallows another forbidden pill. In addition to higher damage and attack speed, puddles of poison start to spew from his skin. The mechanic is identical to that in the first phase.”
“Very good, you know your stuff.” Skyfrost comments as an ear-piercing roar shakes the entire final ring. “It seems like a group has started the boss. If I recall correctly, you’re able to use [On Immortal Winds (乘罡风)] right?”
“Of course. It’s a mandatory escape skill.”
“Perfect.” He says, that eagerness from last night appearing once more. “We’ll be using it offensively. Depending on who’s fighting the boss currently, we might not have much time so I’ll explain during the fight. You up for it?”
What do you say?
>”Let’s do it!” Skyfrost’s plans haven’t failed so far. You have faith in whatever he has in mind.>”Seems a little risky, doesn’t it?” Not only does he plan to use [On Immortal Winds], one of the few escape skills you have, but you’ll only know of his strategy in the heat of battle.>Write in.
