>>5546263“With only a normal Operation Orb? It can withstand a full barrage from the RYNO, or several direct hits from the Arbiter's carbonox-armor-piercing explosive rounds.” he tells you, then turns to the next weapon on the table. “However, when you're using it, fueling it with your divine power, according to my calculations it should be able to withstand a full-power Final Flash from even Chaya.”
“Wooooooah....” Serebryakov says, stunned by his bold declaration. But the next weapon on the table draws your eye, to the point you barely hear him. It is a heavy-seeming green and blue hunk of metal with a perfectly cut emerald protruding from the front of the weapon, one hand grip on the left side similar to your Lancer's chainsaw handle with a second grip on the back. It looks a bit awkward to handle, but the slightly luminous crystal on the front continues to draw you in.
“Ah yes, I see you've taken a fancy to the Optical Maser Array.” he says, walking over and speaking on it as you heft the weapon. It's surprisingly heavy and unwieldy, the balance all off. What in the world is Dr. Schugel and Vox doing, making something this difficult to use? It doesn't fit their usual design philosophy. “A prototype weapon built by the Gadgetron Corporation that the acquisition team... Acquired recently. They were the first to have retrofit spaceship-grade weapons platforms to personnel to use during the Tyhrranoid war Go ahead, fire it at the target over there.”
Gesturing to what seems to be the side of a starship, energy shield and all, every single one of the staff immediately clear out of that side of the room when the doctor points. You heft the heavy weapon while planting your feet, and point it at the starcraft hull target.
“Everyone stand clear, weapons live!” you call out in your Drill Sargent tone, then pull the trigger. Immediately a beam of radiant crimson energy explodes out from the weapon. The beam slams into the energy barrier, slowly eating through it until the energy slams into the armored hull.. Once it does and begins heating the metal you power the weapon down and turn questioningly towards the doctor. “This is it?”
“Now, try it again. But this time, use your magnificent divine power.” he says, grinning excitedly. “Channel your divine might through the weapon, and unlock it's true potential.”
“Very well.” you reply with a sigh, taking in a deep breath before activating your Type 95 still worn around your neck. Muttering a quiet phrase of vengeance you activate it, feeling the divine power you've cultivated begin rising up from within. Your golden glow distorts the colors of the room, and while channeling your power into the weapon through the hand grips plant your feet once more. “Firing again in three, two, one.”
