>>5391159Roxanne sticks her tongue out and makes a rude gesture. “Don’t make me laugh. Some upstart little farm girl playing at leading the greatest mercenary company there was. It’s a bad joke. I’m much happier with you, even if you are constantly on my ass.” She exits the arena, stepping over her unconscious training partners. Hard to believe this woman used to be a noble.
>“Oh? It’s not as though Leonie and I are that different when it comes to background and training. Who knows, we may even have an opportunity to work with them in the future.”“The two of you are night and day. And that isn’t the same mercenary company I fought under. The Blade Breaker and the Silent Demon were amazing. I’d have followed them to the depths of hell if they asked. But…they’re dead. And now I’m a Blackwing, which is far more preferrable to working with those amateurs.”
>“My, I’m not used to hearing such praise from the Great Roxanne. Hard to believe I could ever live up to the Professor, though”
“Oh, that’s right…you called her ‘The Professor’. Well…you’re certainly not Byleth, that much is certain. But you’re ‘The Witch’. And that’s good enough for me.”

Returning to your tent, you plan on enjoying a good glass of wine when you’re stopped by the appearance of Damian, who blocks you path.
“Blair! Good news. After days of scouring this damned city, we finally found someone who claims they can translate that book.”
>Your eyes widen in surprise. You hadn’t expected the two to meet with success “You did!? Where? Who? What does it say!?”“Hold your horses, woman! He appears to be some sort of travelling monk. We found him in an inn not too far off from here. He’s with Yara right now. He claimed he could read the text, and even translated a sentence for us. But that was all we got. He said he wouldn’t translate anymore until he met with you. Privately. He was most insistent on that last part.”
>“Is that so? He knows who we are?”“He seemed to figure it out. We’d spoken to a lot of people after all. He must have overheard something. He’s a strange one, I’ll give him that. And for all we know, he could entirely be making this translation up.”
“Well, what was the sentence that he translated?”
Damian shrugs “Didn’t mean anything to me, but it went like this. ‘I worry that our new Sage is taking a greater interest in his own ambitions than in our goals.’
