>>5938153A group of Children gather up the courage to attack you in unison. At least a dozen green-haired fools set upon you with their blades, believing they stand a chance. However, this sword was not the only weapon gifted to you by those cloaked men. You activate the so-called “Crest of Flames” and with a flash of blue and a swing of your arm, the enemy is reduced to a smoldering pile of cinders. You step over the charred corpses in your path, crushing a burning skull underfoot.
At that moment, the remaining Children drop down their weapons and fall to the floor, begging vainly for mercy. Like your weapon, it seems as though they recognize the symbol produced when you used your Crest. Your display of power is all that it takes to reduce them into a blubbering mass of terror. Their reaction could only mean that they understood the significance of what you had done. That you’d killed the goddess Sothis, and had her bones fashioned into the very sword you wield. But if they knew that much, it made no sense why they’d choose to surrender.
For if you didn’t spare the very Goddess herself, why would you spare them?
The slaughter of the Children of the Goddess continues, painting the walls of the tower’s interior with their blood. You manage to pull yourself away from this carnage. The real you, not the psychopath that had initiated this chaos. Though you can barely understand what it is that you just saw, you realize that these events must have occurred here in the past. That man used the Sword of the Creator to slaughter the “Children of the Goddess”, the Nabateans. He killed them all using a weapon fashioned from the bones of their mother. It was no wonder that this place was tainted now. Unfathomable evil had occurred here, and still haunted these very halls. Were these visions meant to be the tower’s last line of defense? To keep you from reaching the summit?
You try to stand but are unable. Your allies were still nowhere to be found. In fact, you seemed to now be somewhere completely different from where you’d remembered. It was as if you’d been somehow warped to a different level of the tower. Wherever it was you were, there were only two directions you could take. Continuing your ascent or returning back down.
You grit your teeth. This was no time to lounge around. Nor would you turn back.
>A): Use your strength to get back to your feet and continue the ascent. (STR+LCK: 70% to succeed)>B): Use your magic to muster a defense against the tower’s psychic assault. (MAG+LCK: 69% to succeed)>C): Jump to your feet and race up the stairs. The quicker you reached the summit, the quicker this would all be over. (SPD+LCK: 82% to succeed)
