Funny thing, he'll be worth a laugh before you eat him later, or find some other terrible use for him.
<span class="mu-b">"...oh look, there's some humans now! Excuse m-"</span>
<span class="mu-s">"-AAAAAHHHHHH!"</span>
<span class="mu-b">"...oh right, they can't understand me..."</span>
Eventually a wagon comes along as you'd hoped, which you try to approach to interact with, but the occupants panic and flee screaming off into the fields and the rain. Well, at least you can tell which direction they were headed! So now you know which way to go, to find Cailinn's home.
---
It turns out the wagon was headed the wrong way, and you had no clue where Cailinn or anyone else got off to. It's almost dark when you're still wandering around, carrying your statue in one hand and your new pet human in the other, still utterly lost and cursing this wretched land. Fortunately though, the village leader on his horse is able to find you by happenstance (probably been riding around for hours himself), and thankfully lead you back.
And when you arrive, oh to such celebration and fanfare!
<span class="mu-b">"-oh no no, no need to thank me! I couldn't have done it without all of you, it's as much your victory as mine... actually no, do thank me! Worship me, mother knows I wouldn't tread on land otherwise..."</span>
Even before you reach the village, plenty of children scamper about you as you stomp along, and a whole crowd of Gaelans is gathered to see you. In such awe do they regard you, throwing flowers and desperately praying and offering all they can to you. Finding your way to the village center again by the big righted stone idol, you practically get swarmed by intrigued humans such that it almost feels like you're in battle again! Though this time you're obviously careful not to crush or kill anyone by accident... at least you try.
<span class="mu-b">"Behold! I have ret-"</span>
<span class="mu-s">"-aie!"</span> your pet Namadan yelps in pain when you roughly wave him overhead in triumph, overwhelmed by the crowd and forgetting which hand you held the statue in.
<span class="mu-b">"Oh, sorry... I have returned to you all, having delivered you from peril in your time of need! Tanaloa provides for you!"</span>
Even though no one can understand you, you feel like making some announcement or something is in order. It's not much, but your words are met with chanting cheers of your name. How delightful, and how strangely intriguing, to see and hear all these humans calling out to you. When not days prior they attacked you or fled in fear, now in their desperate time of need it seems you may be just what they need.
Or at least, they're so elated after actually winning a battle... by your doing at least, that in the moment they get carried away by their awe enough, that they can temporarily look past you being a huge evil grotesque sea monster.
>What do you do?
