… how to control my Lightsabers with the Force.”
“Sure!” Claire blurts out with excitement. “Ok, well, let’s begin with you closing your eyes and feeling the world around you, feel your Lightsabers.”
Shutting both your eyes closed, you listen to her approaching voice as she walks behind you. Without sight, you feel the life all around you, in the grass by your feet, the people in the building underfoot, and the girl standing behind you. More importantly, you can feel both your Lightsabers in the Force, like two juvenile stars glowing in the darkness. The kyber crystals sing to you as you focus in on them, and you are able to see the hilts with a growing clarity, which soon surpasses your own sight. Locked to your belt, all you have to do is will them, and they will move.
“Good, now bring them just in front of your hands, but not in them. Yes, like that, and keep concentrating on your Lightsabers and swing your hands as if you are holding them while willing your Lightsabers to move.”
Feeling the switch on your Lightsabers, you depress it, and both blades come to life with a whoosh. And you swing your right arm, as if you were still gripping the handle, whilst imagining the blade you hold with the Force swinging. You are rewarded with a hum as the Lightsaber cleaves through the air. Your confidence grows, and you begin swinging both of your arms, with your Lightsabers following a lightning-fast Juyo attack pattern. If you saw yourself, you would chuckle at the sight of your arms flailing around as if to fight off some invisible opponent, but you do not care. You are enraptured by the blades you are not touching with your hands, the ones that are slicing through the air in arcs of devastating slashes.
“Excellent!” Claire squeaks out, impressed at your performance and your quick adaptation to the technique. “Now open your eyes and keep your arms by your side; let your mind do all the work. Remember, this isn’t about strength but finesse. All you need to do is focus on the dexterity of which you control your Lightsabers.”
Vila soon appears from the stairs leading from the house to the roof as you continue your practice. Soon, she and Claire battles against a different Lightsaber of yours, you test their defences, as you train yourself to be able to fight off two separate foes with each blade. It is a mental battle to sustain your will and concentration, one you lose multiple times, sending an attack stupidly wide or dropping a Lightsaber into the mud and grass below. But it becomes easier as time passes, that is, ignoring the growing headache from sustaining the technique for so long. You begin to start moving, doing light exercises as your Lightsabers bounce against Claire’s and Vila’s parries.
“Padawans,” Calls out Master Ravel, Luke’s Master, an Ithorian, hours after you began learning the skill. “Please join us downstairs.”
