anons let me experiment with another dice pool mechanism here and see if it is appropriate to qst format. I adapt this mechanic from general inspiration and an obscure Vincent Baker storygame nobody has heard of called Otherkind.

Let us say you are a mercenary in a sort of Stalker Shadow Of Chernobyl or Escape From Tarkov type setting.
You need to enter a deadly Zone, Strelka District, guarded by a fearsome rival mercenary group called The MODRANECT - because this is qst, obviously this terrifying mercenary group is comprised of all women, they are reportedly so attractive! And they all have assault rifles. But extremely attractive! Beautiful, deadly assault rifle-wielding women! It is not plagiarised from House Escher gangers in Necromunda!
So you basically fight the Modranect, fight them all but it is sort of vaguely Escape From Tarkov like realistic, but storygames tactical combat. So you need to prioritise the following (ie rank in order of importance, 1-6)
ASSAULT
This is obvious, it represents ability to suppress, injure, and ultimately kill the enemy. You fire in their general direction (you do not know exactly where they are) and if this is ranked high it will have some effect (depending on the below)
CONTROL
Accuracy, recoil control, ammunition expended / conserved. If this is deprioritised, you may end up reloading at an inopportune time in combat, or weapon jam / malfunction etc.
TARGET
gives a bonus to assault actions. You can locate, track, acquire targets, and potentially see their actions, hear their callouts etc.
MANOEUVRE
Flank, ambush, execute opponents from advantageous positions, can give a bonus to assault, defense or target situationally
STEALTH
Remain hidden from opponents. Can give a bonus to assault, defend, or manoeuvre
DEFEND
prioritising this means you are seeking cover and it is difficult for hostiles to directly injure you. They can flank around you though...
>Rank the actions in order:
ASSAULT
CONTROL
TARGET
MANOEUVRE
STEALTH
DEFEND
for example maybe you want to be aggressive and do this: (high aggression high threat force posture)
ASSAULT 1
CONTROL 4
TARGET 2
MANOEUVRE 3
STEALTH 6
DEFEND 5
or cautious and do this:
ASSAULT 5
CONTROL 6
TARGET 3
MANOEUVRE 4
STEALTH 1
DEFEND 2
then
>roll 6d6
Each 4,5,6 is a success, 1 is very bad, 6 very good. There are some modifiers depending on guns and gear and loadout we will just ignore them for the moment this post is already too long.
If you want you can write-in what exact guns and gear or tactical stuff you are using and doing, if it is entertaining you might get a bonus against these deadly mercenaries.
