>>5163775So I found the damage tables for Delta Green (Call Of Cthulhu modern day conspiracy setting). Most humans have around 10-12 hp. The guns generally deal d8, d10, d12 damage, in the older editions there were fixed modifiers like 2d6+4 damage etc.
But the really clever idea is there is a lethality rating (avoids rolling huge numbers of dice for rockets etc). For the guns this is in the range 10-20% similar to some real life survival probabilities. If you roll under the range target instantly dies, over the range, target receives the percentile digits as damage eg say the lethality range is 15%, you miss with a roll of 54, target receives 5+4=9 damage.
This system looks pretty useful, you could modify lethality ranges for lots of weapons. Burst fire just changes lethality (instead of lots of dice rolls) and lethality can be adjusted for ballistic armour etc.
