The girls suffer throughout this time, their bodies growing ill as they struggle to support the hybrids festering within them.
There is much hushed discussion about what is to be done, but the naga has final say over their conditions. If they can survive the birth, the girls will be spared, and so he will not kill the girls before their time has come, however the "children" cannot be allowed to live.
When the time comes, much sooner than a normal half-elven pregnancy no doubt due to the abhorrent abyssal nature of the spawn, the temple is sealed, with none allowed to enter nor leave. What happened that night is only whispered about in the darkest corners of the seediest places, for all who assisted the naga and the girls were sworn to secrecy.
The girls survived the night, but their wretched spawn did not; the naga saw to that. The nature of the creatures born, the vile and horrendous appearance, will never see the light of day or be known to the common man. As for the women themselves, they will never truly recover, either physically or mentally, and so they formed the beginnings of a convent of holy women, an elite religious caste dedicated solely to piety, sanctity and helping others in matters polite society would not speak of, such as victims of rape, abuse, and attacks by men and monsters alike.
This is a dark and terrible chapter of our history, but our people will endure, and bury the painful memories in time.
