I don't know whether to say this is an inviolable rule and the correct one, but whether there is precedent for this to be the correct theory.
Whereas the four parasites torture souls because it increases their power, souls in the Dragon domain will be assimilated to divinity itself.
Which leads to an interesting question, has the Dragon's personality been altered by the sincere praise of mortals? Like, yes he will devour those souls but I don't think he'll be tortured for no reason, it's just that he fights for those souls out of some sort of instinct imprinted on him by the adoration of humans.
