>>5288619Having sat down, one of the servants brought wine to the table and one by one starting from Terenas you filled your own cups. Then the door to the dining room opened.
“I am sorry.” Jaina said as she made her way to the table. She was wearing the dress she had brought from Stormwind when you went to the city with her. “Sorry for being late, I couldn’t find my comb and it took an eternity to find it.”
“We just talked about you.” Arthas said back to her and gave her a smile.
“What did you talk about me?” Jaina asked as she sat down next to Arthas and was a bit confused.
“You are always late.” Arthas said and laughed.
“Not always Arthas, just sometimes.” Jaina said somewhat sheepishly before continuing. “It is nice to see that you joined us Alric.”
“Well I was invited. It would have been rude to not come.” You answered her.
“And it would be rude for us to keep the cooks waiting, we should eat.” Lianne said to all of you.
…
You had expected a more complex dinner with many different courses, but you quickly found out that this dinner wasn’t as complex, it was more homely. As you ate the salmon soup that was brought to the table, the talking stayed very casual.
Arthas and Jaina had been riding around the countryside on the day of your arrival which was the reason why you hadn’t seen them then. They had visited farmers who had been building a new windmill and Arthas had promised that if he couldn't be personally there, he was going to send someone to bless it when it was finished.
Terenas had stayed mostly silent, just asking a few small questions as it was you, Arthas, Calia and Jaina who did most of the talking.
Jaina had asked you how the search for Thrall had gone and when you told them how close it was that he had managed to escape after being caught while you were in the Internment Camps main building, the womenfolk around the table seemed fascinated to hear more. While there really wasn’t that much to say or continue, you noticed how Arthas seemed more and more discontented longer the dinner lasted.
“The orc was in the camp when you got there?” Arthas said to you. “And you let it get away.”
“As I told you, the orc servant of the camp commander had warned Thrall and while the guards were busy lining up the orcs, he must have climbed the walls.” You explained to him again.
“But still…” Arthas was going to say something, but was interrupted by Terenas.
“The camp commander was the one who made the mistake Arthas. Even if you are a Prince, you have to follow the chain of command and honour those who you are visiting.” Terenas said and seemingly sided with you.
“Father, I understand.” Arthas said and didn’t want to argue with him.
