>>5310983>16, 19, 16 vs 6, 2…But at your bidding, the kobolds Ivno, Ragno, and Agne leap through the smoke to attack these two surviving devils from behind. The ambush predators are now ambushed, keen senses dulled by blind panic and burning pain. They fall to scrawny lizard-men with knives and axes, stabbed to death and chopped to bits before they ever reach you.
You survey the carnage with grisly pride. There are no survivors to report back to their chieftain, or whatever he is. Two lizards abandoned you, but the forces who remain are all largely unharmed, save a few slashes, gouges, nicks, bruises… Some will scar, but lightly. They will be symbols of triumph and victory, not reminders of loss.
The eggs are right where you last saw them, unharmed.
“Let us take them and go,” the Translator says urgently. “More may arrive.”
“With no survivors to report back, we have time,” the Cartrographer notes. “Let us search for clues as to the name of that demon… And take the ruin-route back. We should leave nothing of value for these warm-blooded scum to loot.”
“And Ohle?” Hapo notes quietly, though all the kobolds silently take note, turning subtly towards him while outwardly still waiting on your judgement. “Have eggs, yeah? Take eggs, get out, get Ohle, go back home.”
You consider your options.
