Deep inside the enclosed space, the way back totally closed off to you, you stay quiet. Feeling trapped, you think it best not to draw any attention. You listen closely, for any sign of something- anything- nearby. Is something listening to you, or watching from some dark, impossible corner? Is there something just behind the drywall? Are you just one wall away from the tunnel, and back to the storage closet, or are you really in outer space or some other dimension, entirely unreachable?
The feeling of being indoors and yet not able to hear any appliances through the walls, no noise of neighbors, even settling pipes or floorboards is starting to get to you. You crumple to the floor after enough pressure, the urge to call out getting to you- but being surprised. The thoughts of what has happened to you now have moved past rising panic, and into hopeless despair.
What if you're in some kind of existential nightmare now? The unreal space that simply requires something to observe it for it to exist? The double slit experiment. Now trapped like its one and only captive audience, simply a vampire on your ability to acknowledge that its even real?
After enough time, you think you fall asleep.
