>>5766579Something about the way Adrian spoke about Cornelia gave you the creeps. There was too much reverence there. And while you didn’t doubt that it was possible for an Agarthan in disguise to swindle a subject’s loyalty, you got the impression that there was more than that going on here. Did the fool actually fall in love with her? You’d heard that Cornelia was considered by many to be one of the most beautiful women in Fodlan. But to fall in love…with an Agarthan? How desperate was this fool that he’d been willing to throw away his life for her.
>“You speak of this woman as if she’s some true reincarnation of the Goddess…” You mutter, drawing closer to the cell’s bars and holding on to them. “Come on…what does she have that I don’t?”“I wouldn’t even know where to begin…” Adrian scowls. “For starters, her hips and chest are FAR more ample than your own meager ones. Not that I, as her loyal knight, would ever openly objectify her as such…”
>“Is she really that beautiful?” You ask, mouth open in shock.”“Her hair is bright and luscious, and her smile could melt even the most frozen of hearts. And yet beneath her warm and soft exterior lies an intellect that dwarfs even that of the Empress!” Adrian says, passion evident in his voice. “It is the memory of her beauty that keeps my heart beating even in this cell.”
>“So, she’s not just beautiful, but smart too? Ahh…I’m so jealous.” You sigh breathlessly. “How does she do it? Beset by enemies on all sides, you must truly worry for your lady’s safety.”“Hah…Lady Cornelia is a genius beyond parallel.” Adrian says smugly. “She requires no protection. Not with her Titanus.”
>“Titanus?” You’d never heard the word before. “Hah…wouldn’t you like to know.” The Dukedom commander smirks.
You made a mental note to mark that down and mention it to Anemone later.
>“Come now, Adrian.” You kneel before the paladin. “Surely, I must have something over her, no? How about my magic? Am I a better sorceress than she is?”“Hahaha! Not a chance!” The paladin laughs breathlessly. “Your power is corrupt. You ride on that demonic pegasus, bombarding your enemy from above like a coward. Lady Cornelia’s own magic is nothing like yours! Though I’ve only seen her fight once, she has the ability to fell her foes with a single wave of her hand! I’ve seen entire squads of soldiers fall to the ground dead once Cornelia set them in her sights.”
Some sort of death magic? Interesting. Another thing you’d have to note if you ever managed to meet her face to face.
