>>5384612All at once, you see and feel several things: your body being strapped tightly to a gurney, leather straps tight and constricting bony, emaciated limbs; a white ceiling that looks like every other white ceiling that this building has to offer; lastly is the fact that you’re passing through the halls at breakneck speed, the sense of urgency from the orderlies looking down on you truly palpable.
To you, it feels like this only happened a minute ago, or are these Conduit’s thoughts and feelings he’s transmitting to you?
There’s a powerful, overbearing feeling in your gut that makes you feel so certain that he must be close if he can use his power without you being asleep, but you hardly have the chance to ask him because, as if the desert were ripped forcefully from beneath you, all of that star and sand disappears so abruptly that it feels like whiplash.
Blinking the remaining stars from your eyes, Julia had taken the front and is now leading the charge to Room 101– a room that is clearly in your sights. By some miracle, Ursula had somehow remained tightly within your grasp, and, thankfully, she hadn't caught onto the fact that you basically had gotten taken to Conduit's dreamworld during the course of your journey.
Resuming your sprint, you don’t hesitate to run ahead of Julia once more and barge straight through the door, ready to scoop up Conduit and be done with this place for good.
The door bursts open, and, if not for the fact that said door was a thick slab of FerroFlex, that door would’ve been straight-up destroyed. Although you imagined you’d see all sorts of heinous sights within this room, save for the operating table that is suspiciously-laden with straps, the sight that greets you just looks like some normal, run-of-the-mill lab.
The more troubling thing, however, is that there is not a single soul within this room.
Save for the three of you, Room 101 is empty.
