A little bit over an hour after, the next candidate showed up to the Command Center. He was a Woldorian, only about four hundred years old at this point. He wore his military uniform, but it was barren of any decorations. He came forth and introduced himself to me.
[KURT] "I am Kurt Regis. I served in the Regimental Heer for most of my life. I was apart of the two hundred and eleventh Minutemen, serving on the island of Catemore just off the coast far from this very city. I was promoted from Oberst to Generalmajor over three hundred and twenty years ago. I was dishonorably discharged for a grievous mistake in my critical thinking back then and I'm lucky I was not executed and branded a traitor for it."
[KURT] "I work at a pizzeria here in Eikrise. I am much better suited to throwing dough than I am commanding troops and I wholeheartedly recommend against you seeking to employ me in a command regard. I have veterancy, and experience, but I am far outweighed in it by older COs who've been serving or still are, and I am one hundred and ten percent sure you may find a more viable candidate by looking amongst them, madam."
Huh. Right off the bat, he decides to give me everything.
His issues are with his confidence. He seems very self-conscious. But the thing is, he must have clearly been good at something if we was able to reach such a rank so fast. So I had to know. Since he was being straightforward, I would to.
'Alright. What happened?'
[KURT] "I was promoted hastily for my insights into the use of combined arms strategy for nightfalling. Nightfalls were operations we, as the name implies, do nocturnally. The Heer and Samurai are prideful, and they love to fight in the open day one on one. There are rules in war, but there are also standards. Standards that seem to be upheld because it's popular. Both armies letting one another see each other and then charging. I subverted those expectations by seeking to get things done as fast as possible."
