Peppa sits up as well and questions, “Yeah what was up with that?”
“...Did you become a Kai? You gotta tell us if you’re a Kai now.” you tell him, pointing your finger at him. Are you being serious? He will never know.
“Apprentice to Supreme Kai, technically.” he answers with a grin. “I’m probably not as adept at it as you are with Instant Transmission, sis, but I can definitely manage it after focusing on where I need to go. Tapion and Minotia can probably do the same, since Zarid was able to pull it off.”
“That’s actually really cool!” Peppa tells her brother excitedly. “How did you figure that out?”
“Part of it was Fu, actually. He mentioned off-hand I should be capable of using the technique before…” His voice trails off and his expression grows a bit more melancholy.
“Ah…” Peppa frowns, placing her hand on his shoulder.
“...Er, well. It’s still cool that you can do it. And hey, if Tapion and Minotia can do that too, that’ll help out a lot.” Trying to look on the bright side. “How about you, Peppa? What happened after talking with Basilea?”
“She and the goo girls went off on their own, and I spent a bit of time talking with Cocoa and Videl. Well… talking, venting, trying not to break down…” Peppa looks away. “I know I shouldn’t blame myself for what happened but… it still hurts.”
You pull your arms around your cousins and hug them. “It’s barely been a day. You’re holding up well, but that doesn’t just sweep it away. A lot of others are in the same boat. It’s one reason I went up to the Arctic with my gang and Yamcha today, to try and put some progress towards that, because the both of you needed a breather. It… wasn’t the easiest thing to do, but it worked.”
“You think so?” Gohan questions hopefully.
You nod. “Yeah. Wanna hear how it went down?”
“Sure.” Peppa agrees.
“Okay, so it went down like this…”
