>>5249481After meeting with Sir Radan you supervised the work for the rest of the day as Raleigh the True was away on a patrol. You thought about going to talk with Eligius, but in the end the paperwork that you hadn’t done during the scouting mission overwhelmed you and you spent the rest of the day dealing with it.
Raleigh had returned later in the evening and you made sure to go see him as the first thing you did the next day.
“Raleigh, do you have a minute?” You asked him after you had found him outside a house whose owner apparently had gotten a nasty cut during chopping firewood. Raleigh had been making daily visits there to heal the wound, change the bandages and to provide spiritual support. The patient would make a full recovery.
“Prince Alric, yes I have time.” Raleigh said and gave a respectful nod to you. “What can I do for you?”
“I suppose that you should know, but I learned from Father Hampton that the Church had made a decision regarding sending a proper priest to Dawnholme.” You said to him.
“A proper priest is something Dawnholme needs. What was the decision?” Raleigh said back and nodded in approval.
“Father Hampton will be that priest. He will travel here maybe once every two weeks to perform his duties.” You said to him.
“Great, Orion Hampton is a good priest.” Raleigh said back to you with a very monotone voice.
Oh great, could it be that Raleigh and Father Hampton don’t get along? And Orion? You hadn’t asked Hampton what his first name was as it hadn’t been that important really.
“Father Hampton didn’t say when he would be arriving the first time, but I think his presence here will be appreciated.” You said back and smiled.
“You are correct Prince Alric.” Raleigh said again with that monotone voice and leaned on his warhammer.
“But enough of that, what do you think about the invasion?” You changed the subject and asked him.
“Prince Alric, it is the right thing to do. Law and order must be brought into that wilderness even with fire and steel if they are required.” Raleigh said and his normal seriousness returned. “It is also a great chance to see for the spiritual needs of the locals and get rid of things unholy and against the Light.”
“Then where do you think you would be of best use?” You asked him.
“Prince Alric, the orders that were given to me by Lord Uther were to make sure that you would survive. With no one else being capable of healing, my place should be close to you.” Raleigh said.
That was a solid argument, but it did make you somewhat uncomfortable to know that someone who was feeding Lord Uther with information would be following right behind you.
