It's a no brainer - You really want to help SACA out but your knowledge on repairing stuff starts and ends with 'turning it on and off again'. Colt's a perfect source of data to you right now. How does the raw wine affect someone? Could it clue you on what a safe, medicinal dose might be? Could it reveal what other effects the wine might have?
You make sure to put on some new PPE. Not because you think he's infectious but because you know what drunk people to do a LOT. You rather not have vomit on your suit and tie, you know?
Colt's body has sunk as far as it can into the lounge chair. He's blankly staring at the ceiling with a dopey, thoughtless smile. "Vinnnnnnn...l-look, beakshit, w-we've been bals for 7 years now..."
"We've only been work partners for 9 hours, Colt." You let out an exasperated sigh.
"B-but, freakshot, I know it's been a l-long time." He's not listening to you. "I-if I-I don't bake it, I want. I." He cuts himself off before he can finish what he's saying. He's not slurring his words as much as before but he's not on the same mental plane as you are.
"Colt?"
"Who the fuck are you?" There's not even a hint of recognition behind his eyes. "Bah." He goes back to staring at the ceiling as if that's more worth his time.
Asking him anything is going to be a waste of time. You snatch a syringe off a nearby table so you can take a blood sample from him. He doesn't even flinch when you sink the needle into his vein.
The blood you extracted already looks wrong. It has darkened quite a lot and its viscosity has increased to really worrying levels. You do a quick chemical analysis on it with your testing kit and, uh, there's certainly an issue! You don't think blood PH should be 3.4. That's as acidic as wine or vinegar is supposed to be.
Yet, despite how intoxicated he is and how his blood looks, Colt seems fine. His vitals are normal enough for someone who's drunk.
You put some of the blood in the CENTRIFUGE before turning it on. Two distinct liquids separate after only a minute or so. Most of it is blood, probably about 98% of it, but there's something floating on the surface of the blood. A small but notable amount of wine has been separated from his blood.
>NEW PROPERTY OBSERVED: After consumption, a small amount of the consumer's blood is replaced with wine. Source of immediate and prolonged intoxication?
The wine has already taken on a far lighter hue that resembles human blood more than his actual blood right now.
>NEW PROPERTY OBSERVED: The wine found in their blood has been noticeably altered. May offer unique properties?
>You obtain 1 SAMPLE of BLOOD WINE (A small amount of light red wine extracted from Colt's blood. Unknown properties.)
Hm. You return to Colt and you make a small cut on his arm with your scalpel. He doesn't even flinch at the cut you gave him. Thick blood pours out of the wound and, after only a few seconds, the blood has thickened and dried to the point where the bleeding has stopped.
