It is based upon the eponymous traditional fairytale, about a virgin bride who discovers her husband has a secret room where he keeps his previous horribly murdered wives etc, I first encountered this originally in a variant short story written by Angela Carter called The Bloody Chamber. In the game you play as different aspects of one singular woman (players personify different female personalities guiding The Bride) there is also some interesting advice about creating horror and how to create artifacts or imbue objects with emotions, placing them around a haunted mansion etc. It is a fairly thought-provoking and original rpg framework based on a very simple traditional cautionary tale
