I thought that, so long as Charles had someone there to act as his additional eyes and ears, he may be able to do well here. After all, I could not easily turn away the man who just made the Bunker what it is now, and possibly put someone who does not know it as well as him there.
I'm sure with a little laborious purpose in his life again, he will be able to catch up eventually.
[???] "Uhh mister Huxton, your coffee sir."
[CHARLES] "Doug! Good of you, lad!"
Someone else entered the room then, unannounced. A young guy in a construction outfit bring Charles his coffee. How much of that did he drink? I already could tell his system was heavily caffeinated already...
'Hm. You.' I said, pointing him out.
[DOUG] "...M... Me?"
'Yes. Your name, son.'
[DOUG] "...Oh! Er. I'm Doug. I bring mister Huxton his coffee. N... Nice to meet you, boss."
Doug. A quick mind read reveals this boy is constantly watching over Charles behind his back... Doing more than merely running for coffee, it seems this boy respects him enough to call him 'sir' where he insists upon his crewmen simply referring to him by name.
'You are with Charles often, yes?'
[DOUG] "...Basically, y-yeah."
'Good. Then you'll be his co-director.'
[DOUG] "Co... Co-Director...?" He said, sounding worried.
'Yes. It means you are to assist Sir Charles in his job as new Director of the Bunker Department.' I said to them both.
Mister Charles looked exhilarated. He knew he had the job. I winked to Doug then, as if to give him the subtle meaning behind my motive. He stared back, wide eyed for a moment before he nodded as if to tell me; "I get it. I'll do it."
I sent the both of them off then and told them Hale would be able to give them further instructions. So far, I now had two Department heads. I need more. This discharged general and scientist were next on my list and I asked Hale if he could send a worker to grab them, to which he obliged me readily, phoning up top.
