>>5188417Hyde was shooting at all directions as both the spiders and harpies fell from merely looking at him the wrong way, even if he was focusing a lot more on the spiders...
"How did you train this horse to be so obedient?" Serpico asks you as you shove him from your seat.
"He's not obedient. He only obeys one person." You order your horse to start sprinting as Serpico jumps up and keeps the harpies away.
Several rocks start falling from the summit, and the shaking of the ground gives away to even more erosion, but Gunpowder manages to hop and gallop over all the obstacles. That's your boy right there! Better give him some carrots when you get to Albion...
The four of you get away safely from the battlefield, slowly descending for a few more minutes until you saw Azan and his troops waiting next to the starting path in the distance.
An afterimage of Serpico slicing your head off was quick to warn you about the dangers of trusting him when Farnese was back in his mind, blocking his attack with your shortsword.
"Don't tell me. You're mad at yourself for letting Guts leave? You know you don't have what it takes to beat him by yourself." You look behind you as Farnese's lapdog attempts another strike.
"Hardly. I knew I would be fighting a losing battle against the two of you together. I might get yelled at for losing subject A, but the true identity of subject B might be a good enough reward for the commander."
Fighting an enemy while your back is turned is ridiculously hard, left becomes right, and right becomes left as you have to mimic his movements. Serpico is flabbergasted at how you can parry without so much as looking at him, but your feeling of intent once again proves to be your biggest saving grace, making you look a lot more experienced in combat than you actually are.
Serpico was smart in fighting you this way, because if he wasn't directly behind you, you would be able to turn your halberd in a way that could knock him off the caravan without risking a hit on Hyde, Jodi, or the structure of your vehicle. His placement is very precise, just like the wording of his threats.
"They're waiting for you down there. I won't come back empty-handed." You are quickly approaching the regular trail, where Azan has his staff ready to stop you if you don't pull in the breaks. With a sword at your neck and an army not too far away, you try and think of another way to solve this...
The gap! It was probably so large that Serpico didn't even consider jumping across, but it was one of the first options you considered when you were thinking of leaving the area! Gunpowder could certainly make a leap from there if the entrance at Ilos is anything to go by, but you were on your own. Not with a caravan of 4 people inside...
Serpico doesn't know you can talk to Gunpowder with your mind though, is it worth telling him to take a left turn and scare him into thinking you are drifting into a crash?
