...not too well, yet not terrible either. Seeing that attack isn't an option, by now most of the villagers have retreated to their homes or fled into the night. And those that remain, including some of the priestly shamans you recognized from the ritual earlier, they clearly are angry and upset by what Cailinn is saying. Shouting what you assume to be ridicule and throwing things at her... trying to avoid hitting you. You can only imagine there is some argument and denouncements of a religious nature taking place.
For some of the humans though, too terrified or curious to leave, they stare on in awe at you and a scant few... probably in fair more than anything, make prayers and attempt to offer you gifts if they weren't being stopped by those still hostile to you. The faces and wide eyes of these few people, visible by the large fires around the village, you look among them and see promise. If you just had some way of interacting with them or doing something, that could get the humans to at least recognize your presence here, if not welcome you.
<span class="mu-b">"Bah, wretched humans... I bet the false god had his merrows take care of this nonsense for him..."</span>
Fortunately as you have seen, there doesn't seem to be anything these humans can do to stop you, hurt you, or drive you away. So you've got just about all the time in the world you imagine, to think of what to do. Of course you could do something drastic like possessing someone with your inner kraken tentacle, in order to communicate. Or wield your divinity in a direct way to show off and prove yourself to them all. You feel pretty sure that you are going to impart the divinity stored in your mouth to Cailinn, which definitely would help your case, but this is something that takes time and would probably frighten people at first.
So you have many options available, but some are obviously going to have an even worse effect on the Gaelans, compared to other options. Overall the important thing is... this went better than you expected at least, and you're surprised to have gotten your foot in the door. Sure the reaction is not what you hoped, but it's definitely not a failure. Maybe if you spend the night among them, that will help get them used to you at least...
