I had been searching the countryside for Demharugh for a fair while, until I pinpointed the Fairy Goddess moving about through Eskart's realm. The sweet little maid had made it this far already, and I could see when I checked up on her progress that she was now leading a troupe of Fairies with her. Many other Fairies and Pixie creatures had joined up with Demharugh on her little journey of introspection. They came in forms both human-like and as small, winged, bobbing balls of light.
'Demharugh. Demharugh, sweety, can you hear me?'
[DEMHARUGH] "Huh?"
The Fairy Godmother stopped where she floated over and landed on both feet, looking around.
'Ah. It's me. I'm speaking directly into your mind. Do you remember?'
[DEMHARUGH] "Ah! Lady Muna! Twas' you! How do you do?"
'I'm keeping an eye on you. Making sure you don't run into any trouble. I see your little chore is going smoothly so far. But would you mind to tell me what's going on? Why are there so many Fairies following you around?'
[DEMHARUGH] "A simple explanation, my dear Goddess! In order to fulfill my instruction and discover yon' Fae's origin, I enlisted the help of all ye' wild and fun and free Faekin I could find abroad! Masterless, poor dearies and little prancing Pixies all over the woodland. I took my time asking each one if they knew the Fae history! Sadly, not a one of them did!"
'Ah. So you're just doing what you felt most prudent, I take it?'
[DEMHARUGH] "W-Well... Hmmm. I suppose... I must find the Faekin's origin, so perhaps one of yon' Fae must know. And if they don't, well, I'll just keep looking, not leaving a one rock undisturbed until I've overturned them all to find where we came from! The others, without any masters to tell them what to do, just listened to me when I suggested following along if they also wanted to know!"
'Hmm... Interesting... It must be a first for you, telling others what to do.'
[DEMHARUGH] "Oh. Well, I am their natal divinity, right? But, it isn't really my job to tell others what to do..."
'No, no, it's fine.'
[DEMHARUGH] "It is?"
'Well, don't maids sometimes get their instructions from a head maid who works for the master as well? Think of it like that. If most Fae prefer to be maids, then right now you're acting as the biggest head maid there ever was on one of the most important jobs of all! You're leading your own kind to retracing their steps! It's a good thing, in fact.'
[DEMHARUGH] "Hooooohhh..." Demharugh smiled; "Well, when you put it like that, it certainly is, isn't it? Why, this is my most important job! I've got a big responsibility being the head maid of all Faekin right now, don't I? Well, I've ever endeavor to please you and Lady Eikn, rest assured!"
'Mm. I'm glad. Keep up the good work, Dem'."
[DEMHARUGH] "Hmhm! Thank you very kindly, Lady Muna."
And off she went, continuing her journey.
Nothing seems to have transpired so far. I'll check in some other time. Maybe then she'll have something.
