The Cannibal Ak, like all other Aks, is too stupid to differentiate between Ak species, and thus evolution has saw fit to give these creatures a fleshy covering over their skull to prevent them from eating each other's brains. During the mating season however, the male Ak's braincover will retract, and it will use it's uncovered brain as "bait" to attract females. In this state, the male will attempt to fornicate with any Ak that approaches it, with no regard whether it has a covered skull or not, so homosexual and interspecies matings are still common.
