As you dial up Kiara, you take a moment to look outside the train's window. It's only been a few minutes but thanks to a combination of T-Company tomfuckery and the trains being good- Wait, both are ran by the same company. No wonder! Regardless. The outside is something you haven't quite seen in a while. L-GAMMA-6, the closest section of its District from the section of S-Corp's district you were in.
Perfectly white skyscrapers rise up from the equally perfectly white streets. It's blinding to look at, really, and you have to squint pretty hard to make any discernable shapes. It's not white from snow or anything, the whole place is just blanketed in white paint, white metal, white stone and...something you can't quite put your tongue on. It's as if the buildings themselves were glowing. Iridescent, fickle illusions of light that somehow manage to exist in your reality in spite of their non-physical nature.
You feel at peace staring at it.
You're interrupted when your call with Kiara finally connects and-
"HOLY SHIT NICKY WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN???" Kiara screeches over the other line like an excited schoolgirl. "It's been so long, how it's been??? You okay? Did you see anything cool? Huh? Huh? Where are you? Huh? Maruyama's fun and all but he's sooo boring, he doesn't want to see any of the anomalies I took pictures of-"
"Woah, woah, calm down, Kiara. I would say take some deep breaths but, well, you know." You chuckle to yourself before collecting your thoughts enough to respond. "Yeah. Just handled a mission out at the sea. Took a lot of pictures I think you'll like."
"Huh? You took pictures? How? Of what? When? Tell me tell me tell me!!!"
"Well, first, lemme tell you where I'm at. I'm heading to L-Corp's district. Gamma-6. For some reason, I know that you know there's a good movie theater here?"
"Oh! I knew you were at L-Corp's district for some reason! Wild, isn't it?"
"hey let me talk to her" You can barely hear Maruyama trying to get the phone from Kiara's hand as Kiara keeps rapidly muttering nonsensical words to you.
"Hey." He eventually manages to wrangle the phone from her. "Long time no see, huh?" He sounds as exhausted and bored as he normally does but there's a hint of warmth in his words. "How's it been?"
"Good, good. You know that Avalon thing we did a week and a half ago or whatever? I'm bringing you two alone to watch the movie. L-Corp. Gamma-6. You two available?"
"Oh! Yeah, yeah, sure. You got me at a good time, it's my day off actually. We'll be over there in...eh. Ten minutes? Got an old T-Corp Train ticket. Costs a FORTUNE but you can travel to anywhere a train can access in thirty seconds or less with it."
