>>5453814Next up, Videl and Sharpner… and they blow this one out of the park. They keep pace with one another, Videl leading but Sharpner following well. They also do something fairly smart, moving in a zig-zag pattern when near the Slime Cannons. They get to the last one… and clear it! Full points for them!
Latte and Java actually seem a bit more confident now, and instead of the quick run the previous teams went for, they go for a slower, more methodical approach. They move counter to the rotating tubes where they can to try and keep a steady pace forward, and you notice that Java’s actually paying careful attention to the arcs the Slime Cannons fire out from. They keep this pace up… and clear! Full points for them too!
Izzy and Tapion are next, and they look like they’re going to keep up the same kind of strategy that Videl and Sharpner had, though moving at a quicker pace. Izzy even tries to make this look like it’s a cakewalk by deflecting away the slime with materialized umbrellas... and not quite getting the result she planned. She does end up deflecting several shots… but those end up splashing over much more of the tube, which she ends up slipping on. Tapion is able to stabilize her before she falls, but… she ends up getting blasted in the face with slime. That’s gotta be a blow to her pride. Still, she and Tapion clear together, getting one point.
The next couple pairs end up faring significantly better. Sachie and Atole end up not just running through it together at a good pace, but Sachie even manages to walk them along the walls as the tubes rotate, spiraling around until they get to the end, putting a smile on their faces! Zarid manages to convince Sala to follow his lead, and this time things go over better for the pair, with them not so much dashing through as they end up leaping from point to point away from the Slime Cannons. They clear as well! Both teams end up with full points!
In the meantime, you get Minotia to interview Idasa and Ikose’s teams. “Heh, something like this is gonna be a walk in the park.” Idasa proclaims. “I’m sure we’ll win this.”
“We absolutely will!” Kokoro cheers enthusiastically. “I’m used to dodging much worse than this.”
“Wait, really?” the boy questions.
“Mhm! I’m an ace pilot after all.” she answers with a wink, which he just kinda blankly stares at.
Ikose meanwhile puffs his chest up. “Don’t worry Sibella, I’ll keep ya safe from that slime.”
She giggles. “My, what a gentleman you are. But you should remember we have to get through this together. Don’t risk yourself for my sake.”
