>>5921112Sylvain and Hilda began to draw closer, walking with the same unnaturalness that their predecessors before them had. Behind them, you could see Mercedes still standing, making no sudden moves. Any second now, those pilgrims would be behind you, further complicating matters. What’s more, Bennett seemed to be sure that the “Goddess” would be descending down any minute now. Knowing what that meant, you couldn’t help but feel that you were running out of time, and that you would need to get more aggressive, even if it meant facing those Heroes Relics head on. You fly away from the bridge, alongside Ingrid, Diana and Ava. Your goal was to take down Mercedes, and hopefully detonate the leftover blasting powder.
“I lend you my power! Crush our foes!” Damian shouts, using his ability to increase the magic of his nearby allies.

Sylvain is attacked by two orbs of dark magic courtesy of Yara. The corpse’s armor begins to melt off piece by piece, exposing horridly pallid, rotting skin. Sylvain continues stumbling forward across the bridge, relic clutched in hand and poised to strike. Eleanor attacks him from the side of the bridge, launching a barrage of icicles his way.
“Is that really the Gautier child?” Eleanor asks herself, focusing on her target. “What horrible fate has befallen you, poor boy. For your father’s sake, allow me to put an end to your suffering.”

Ignoring the death of her comrade, Hilda comes barreling in, Freikugel raised high above her head. Like the other corpses before her, she is assailed with a barrage of ranged attacks before she can make it too close.
>Ashe (Killer Bow, No Crit): 35x2 = 70 DMG>Leopold (Spear): 23x2 = 46 DMG>Theo (Tomahawk): 32x2 = 64 DMG>Hilda: 0/160 HPHilda continues charging forward even as two of Ashe’s arrows land in her chest. A spear launched by Leopold impales her right through the stomach. It isn’t until she’s one step away from Scratch that a Tomahawk thrown by Theo lands in the middle of her head. The corpse warrior is thrown back several feet. Something seemingly breaks in her finally, and she does not stir again.
A part of you struggled to believe how well this was going. Even with their Heroes Relics, these corpse warriors only possessed a fraction of the strength that you knew your friends had. Had it really been them you were fighting; you would have truly been in peril. But a relic is only as good as its wielder. Still, you felt a sense of uneasiness. Both Bennett and Anacharsis knew what you and your company were capable of. Did they really expect you to be held off by just this?
You shake these thoughts away, focusing on the target ahead: Mercedes.
