The Protavic find a great deal of value in the shining stones that the Rodac use. This mineral is apparently found in larger rocks and though it appears green on the surface, it becomes lustrous and orange once it is polished – it is copper. After the rest of the rock has been chipped away, the metal can then be worked into an appropriate shape through painstaking effort.
The amount of labour required to make useful tools out of this material is extensive, but the final result is superior to anything made out of flint. Copper knives, arrowheads, spearheads, adzes and chisels do not break so easily and they can be sharpened whenever their edges grow dull. Additionally, a less reliable source of this metal has been discovered, along the river that borders Scagravic territory. The native copper found here must have been washed down from the Sharoc, the river's origin. Some of the tribe ponder expansion in that direction, away from the hospitable shores of the Croglatol, but decide against it. It is too soon.
A generation passes.
Though the relationship between the Protavic and Toprocravic has cooled to the point where the tribes can no longer be considered allies or even friends, they still trade with each other. However, it has come to the attention of our tribe that whenever the sealskins visit the shores that once belonged to the singers, a few people inevitably go missing.
After some investigation, it is discovered that these traders are responsible for smuggling tribesmen who identify as Bruslavic out of our tribe's territory and into their own. Apparently the traditions of the singers are welcome and tolerated in Toprocravic land and it's likely that they have been doing this for quite some time. At some point in the past, the two clans must have been quite close.

Our tribe could demand the return of the singers. At this point, our tribe is almost certainly stronger than the Toprocravic. They would be fools to risk conflict with the Protavic over this issue.
Our tribe could bring an end to trade with the sealskins. This shall damage the wealth of the Protavic people and their relationship with the sealskins, but at least it will put a stop to this exodus.
Our tribe could offer tribute if the human trafficking stops. The Protavic will need to offer a great deal of gifts to the sealskins in order to improve relations and convince them to stop.
Our tribe could confiscate the property of those who leave the tribe. The singers shall be allowed to leave the Protavic if they want. However, they must leave behind everything they own.
