“We cannot take up the Questing Vow.” Lucian pointed out the facts of the matter quickly, “Neither of us are Knights of the Realm.”
“We have done more than even my Father had.” Gillot said honestly as he pointed to the corpse of the Necromancer, “I have slain a King, sending him back to the Dwarfen Gods, you the one who raised him. By the Lady we have slain so many great monsters as well!”
“Then who will stand witness? I have always heard a Grail Knight’s tail start with their swearing the Vow before a Duke. And the restrictions, I will not be traveling this road as alone as you are.”
There was a slight growl of irritation within the voice of Gillot as he spoke, “It is loved ones, your family, who cannot help you. And as you renounced your titles your men will not serve you either. I do not think a peasant like you have blood relations with the Dwarfs or Lizards, unless you’ve been a Beastman all this time.” The jab was made clearly, but with a sort of sport to it.
“No, you’re right.” Lucian answered, “And what of the witnesses? What nobleman will stand to witness us take this vow?”
“It shall be our King!” Declared one of the remaining Dwarfen Guard, “We can feel it in our bones. The First King stands amongst us in anticipation to reward you!”
“Then all you need is a weapon.” Gillot declared for it was indeed the last thing needed.
“Aye, I can make one.” Adok declared as he bashed his hand upon his chest, “If the Ancestors allow it, I shall use the weapons within this very room to forge a weapon worthy of a Hero to the Dwarfs.”
“We agree! It is the least we can do for saving our king!” Declared the Ghost as he gave a mighty laugh.
>Take the Grail Vow
>Decline it
>We will choose runes later. I am getting the Armies of Fantasy book tomorrow and it will have a nice selection of runes within it.
