"You think you'll have the luxury of joining the fight? Even now, your forces are being kicked out of the district. You've lost them all."
Astamon tries to move. You watch in horror as DarkTyrannomon swings his tail again, completely demolishing the wall of screens and burying your partner in the rubble. You feel pain and panic through your Digivice link, but he's still conscious. Only then does he stomp towards you to answer your taunt. He's learnt from his last fight.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">"No. Gigadramon is strong. He'll find a way to break them. Rrgh... My plan wasn't to seek you out today, until he told me you were right here, ripe for the picking. Is this whole attack your doing too? Do they answer to you...?"</span></span>
He's taking pride in beating you and Astamon according to his own metrics. So how will he react when you lie and make it seem like he's lost at every turn? A small smile curls your lips, and you keep the gun pointed at him fearlessly. He could obliterate you with one fireball, but you get the feeling that he won't. Not without listening. You try not to glance at the rubble, where Astamon is trying to pull himself together and prepare a decisive attack.
"Yeah. You've got a pack, I've got a pack. And mine is winning. Because Astamon and I actually got out there and fought alongside our subjects. You remember Commandramon? Little pipsqueak who we kicked your ass with last time? Even he's evolved now. We deleted Deltamon with his help."
DarkTyrannomon slams the ground in rage, and you feel a flicker of doubt. Luckily, he doesn't change his mind and go for you.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">"You- You've even bent the City's slaves to your will?! How?! What secret does that device hold, to give you two such power?"</span></span> He points at the Digivice with a broken claw, courtesy of Astamon. You see a wireframe weakly attempting to reform over it.
As you think about how you're going to keep him engaged, that buzzing within you grows stronger. You suddenly understand something about this gargantuan beast. He isn't just trying to climb upwards. He's targeted the two of you, and wants what you have. But even with this Digivice in his hands, it's something he can never have. And letting him know that will be more effective than any cutting insults.
"This thing is a Digivice." You say, holding it up for him to see.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">"Digivice. A Digimon device."</span></span> He mumbles, understanding the name immediately. <span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">"I asked HOW. How?"</span></span> He demands.
