Combat will be fairly straightforward and easy. The Party will act as one side, with the Enemies as the other, with a simple initiative roll to see which side goes first. Actual combat rolls I will handle using some RNG/dice rollers, rather than trying to make a post for each individual roll, and post results. The Players will handle the position of Team Manager, in which you will be making decisions on how the team is handled, along with dictating how they should handle each encounter.
I drew up a fast and loose system largely based on Bloodbowl and other GW games. Your Attributes are as follows:
Strength: Melee accuracy and Armor Break bonus.
Agility: Ranged/Dex based weapons accuracy and Defense bonus.
Weird: Spell checks, bonuses to Spell effects, Extra Skill uses
Stuff: Charisma/talent checks, extra Life.
Grit: Life, Bonus Armor Value, Cripple Save
More distinct details can be referenced in picrel. Combat isn't going to be solidly set in stone, I'll try and make it interesting and dynamic and use the rolls as a guidance to the narrative. That is to say, we're not going to be concerned with movement, adjacency, range, and so on. I'll try to keep positions in mind and go with what makes the most sense at the time.
Attacks are handled:
1. Using Str, Agi, or Wrd?
2. Determine To Hit based on Score and target’s Defense. Ex: Strength 3 = 4+ Target Defense = 1. To Hit= 5+
3. If Hit, check for Armor Break. 2d6 vs target’s Armor. If higher, then Armor Break. Ex: Goblin has Armor Value =5. You hit with a Melee attack with a Strength Score of 5. Roll 2d6+1. Result = 9, Armor broken.
4. If Armor Break, then check Injuries. The Party/Crawlers/Monsters use the same Injury Table. Most shitty monsters have 1-2 Life on Average. Bosses may use a slightly modified table, as needed. If it results in CRIPPLE (stat loss), roll for Cripple Save. Stats can never go below 1.
Injury table will be next. In short, as Team Manager, you shouldn't expect your Crawlers to be around every single event, either from being injured or killed. You'll have to make the most of it.
