TalOS stared at Fulgrim for what could have been a century. Any respect held against the man was lost in an instant as he dismissed the dutiful work belonging to one of mankind’s greatest men. To put one who was Ancient and degrade them to a lesser being was an insult crossed a core tenant of the Mechnicum.
“If you were a member of the Mechanicus what you spoke would have been Heresy.” TalOS said as he went with a cold iron voice.
“Heresy, brother?” The man gave a laugh as he stopped his anger to become mocking in tone, “You speak in such a barbaric term that I begin to find your words are of a lunatic.”
“Yet you have accused me of Blasphemy against a being who is not even a god.” TalOS fired back, though he knew now that peaceful conversation had long since passed them, “Face it brother, it is the flesh that is weak in the end. Do we use our hands to mend steel or use our hands to screw in a bolt’s nut? When you have slaughtered men do you use your bare fists? No, you use metal and the tools fashioned from it.”
“We use them because our bodies were not meant for such menial tasks.” Flaunted the Primarch with a brush of his long hair, “It is not the wrench that affixes the bolt but the muscles of the person. All machines require that.”
“It is the mind that does all.” TalOS felt somewhat that an agreement was being reached, but knew it was more toying with the man before him.
“As we are forged by our Father, as you said, then we are like those tools. Brother, what I do not understand ultimately is why you forsake such a state of being.” Point out Fulgrim once again, “You were perfect, built for your purpose in the stars. Staying in this palace of metal, you engorge yourself in politics and technology. It saddens me.”
“It may sadden you, but I do not care what you speak of now.” TalOS firmly declared as he looked upon his brother, “We are to have an interesting road before us, an interesting one that I am sure remembrancers will speak of.”
“They will.” He said slyly as he moved his cloak to reveal a sword upon his person, “They will cry out the folly of TalOS the Disfigured, how he ruined his body in pursuit of vain glory and power.”
