Okay that’s kinda distracted you from planning how to fight him but this is important! You tell Pantea you’ll be back momentarily and find Buula and Percel, the two closer to the back and sort of keeping a general eye on things, especially Basilea and Fu... when he isn’t being all buddy-buddy with Pilaf. But that’s not the point! “Heeeeey, Patrollers. So, you heard the spiel from Mugen just a bit ago, right? About Nox, the ‘ancient Battle Majin’ that’s ‘made to fight, made to win’ and all that stuff? So like… is he even supposed to be here? Is he related to certain other Majins? Ozotto… Buu… Hirudegarn…?”
Buula flinches awkwardly when she hears you bring up Buu, but rubs the side of her head… tentacles… thing as she thinks over your question. “Being honest, I don’t actually know much about Nox. Heard boss bring him up in passing before, but I’ve not really dug into the past like that. That Mugen has him is… concerning, but not something technically what we should worry about.” She looks over to her partner. “Percel?”
“Nox, the Battle-Enhanced Majin, brought into existence thousands of years ago by magicians who wished to create the ultimate warrior. Ever-adaptable and capable of learning more skills through observation.” Percel informs you, as if reciting a dossier from memory. “The more he fights the stronger he gets. He was sealed away long ago, so that means Mugen somehow found a way to both unseal and recruit him.” The alien patroller leans forward, placing his hands together. “…What’s curious to me is that he’s showing much more restraint in how he acts. He knows the rules of this tournament, no killing foes and such, which to me implies Mugen is able to keep him under control to a degree. Or… maybe he’s simply turned Nox… well, ‘good’ isn’t exactly the best way to put it, but ‘to his side’ at the very least. Similar beings, like the Majins you mention, would be less willing to go along with this.”
“Dooooo you know how he was sealed away?” you ask hopefully.
“I would have to double check with our boss. Sorry.” He then looks at you in the eyes and tells you telepathically, ‘He IS a Majin, at the end of the day. You’ve beaten some before, have you not? If that’s what you’re trying to accomplish, think on your prior victories. Best of luck, Majin Slayer.’ Percel smiles at you and nods.
Okay that’s a little boost to your ego. Majin Slayer. Yeeeaaaah. Such a cool title.
