They seems to have a mine as well, that to reach they must either go through a land sector with a structure in it, some sort of watchtower, or through your section of the swamp.
The entrance to your lair, by chance, is decently concealed - it would only be noticed if someone is right in front of it. Some trees in the vicinity conceal it further with their branches and vines growing all over. Your drones push the vines aside when entering or leaving the artificial cave, without tearing them apart.
The tiny creatures you discovered build structures to live at, and were most likely the responsible for the rock throws. You would learn more about them if you could eat one of them, then you would understand their composition better, and maybe could even steal some genes.
You realize your current warriors have a gene that gives them "Accelerated Metabolism", making they attack first in any melee engagement. This makes their food upkeep to be 10 per season, rather than the expected 5 from a regular warrior.
A few of your workers die visiting the woods to the north. Deaths seem to have happened mostly at night. Search parties during the day failed to recover the bodies.
