>>5695335When I played The Last Of Us 1 on ps3 I always thought the gameplay was inspired by Manhunt (especially that fight where you are Ellie the weak girl being hunted by the man, the mechanics reminded me of the Pig fight in Manhunt) also the stealth, the shivs in Last Of Us and Manhunt etc. Manhunt was such an amazing game and visionary for its time (the game was released before Youtube existed, but the storyline essentially predicts it and other social phenomena with videotaped real-life violence as entertainment etc) I don't think a game like this with a comparable budget would ever get made today. If only some AAA game studio would release like a Purge / Manhunt / Condemned Criminal Origins type city loot extraction shooter, with ultraviolence hehe I think that is closer to the spirit of an urban open world crime simulator instead of what GTA has become which is like some ultra high budget anodyne American TV drama (so many cutscenes...) I also do quite like games with the fake digital / video artifacts blur glitch effects etc (see: Kane And Lynch 2 naked Shanghai police battle) the dated look is part of their charm
