The laser soon calmed down with a faint shimmer as the Astartes bent down to the weapon and began doing something to it. The Fist was already walking towards the now faintly shimmering pile of sludge as he noticed the other Astartes place his hands together.
“A prayer?” He asked as he stopped dead in his own tracks.
“As was instructed to me by Brother Kemler.” The Astartes said as he did a few swift actions to the machine’s mechanisms.
The Fist could have pondered to himself. To make assumptions about the situation that would surely have been correct. To a more social adept this would have been a more clear option that provided less issue.
He was not one of them however, “Prayer is against the Imperial Truth.”
“Our Primarch has ordered us to do so.”
Such a steadfast answer and straight to the point. Something the fist gave a small frown to, “And your thoughts?”
“In what respect?”
“Professional. When we start our work we will move onto personal.”
The black armored astartes gave a subtle nod as he continued his work, “The Cult Mechanicus has been helpful in our efforts and our access to new gene pools have proved promising. It was the Emperor’s verdict to grant us to our Sire and I understand it to be the right decision.”
“Will we continue to see you over the Crusade?”
“We were given information about Auxilia. Our Father does not contain more ambitions outside of destroying the Mitu and Orks after which he will likely support the Imperial Effort with this newly conquered land as a base of operations.”
“So ultimately this will endeavor to support the Imperium of Mankind.”
“As in accordance with the Treaty of Olympus it will. The Emperor was correct in his assessment that by giving our Primarch and his faith a Legion, he will get many times the value in needed firepower.” The Astartes began to rise as a distinct click came from the Lascannon.
With a subtle smile the Fist presented to his cousin a shovel. Said shovel was accepted with purpose as the two of them moved over to the hot sludge left behind by the Lascannon.
