“I thank you for your honesty, Count Herle of Rivel.” Lucian said to the man as he gave a solemn nod, “It seems that the enemy who we face now is intelligent, knowing that they can hide within the field of war.”
“Know that I say that with a heavy and cautious heart.” Pointed out the Count as he made sure to speak his mind, “For an entire village to have disappeared, as if the fey had taken them, speaks of foul magic. I do not want to face a force capable of doing that when I am already locked in this war.”
“If I ever hear of something else happening then I shall endeavor to get a message down the mountain, if able.” Lucian told the man.
“Then the Lady be upon you Sir Lucian.” Declared the Count with a firm pronouncement, “I have heard that Prince Gillot is closing the distance between the two of you just a few days ago. Perhaps he will close the gap when the two of you are within the mountains.”
“He’s that close?” Lucian felt a desire for confirmation as those words were spoken, “It seems I did burn quite a few hours and days here and there.”
“Take that as a thanks for the information. I will be sure to keep an eye on my flank for whatever horrors lie in wait behind me.” The Lord gave a nod to his previous statement, “Then you are off, are you Black Knight.”
“Thank you for entertaining me for this short time.” Lucian said as he snapped the reins of Nightshade.
The conversation ending they were all off.
