The first would take you two days of travel, perhaps three if you sojourn in Hobcroft. Whereas the latter would take at least three, for the road would take your south to Awesbury first, near the fields of Tor Valrkel (and the great capital itself) before riding along the Moonmoth coast to Yngleyside and then finally north to Hobley. Alternatively you could hire one of the many boats that sail on the Zorgea. That would get you to Hobley in only a day. You'd have to pay the fare for passage, of course, 50 staters per day (about a dozen staters for your leg of the journey) and then a walk through some unsafe wilderness.
