The pain was sudden, like hundreds of different talons which had sucken themselves into his flesh and were tearing at him from all directions. He could feel as his soul was lazerated and cut as it gave instead of allowing the hooks to keep snugly upon him. Several wounds that would turn a normal human soul into two were sunken into the soul-flesh of TalOS for them to try and pull him.
As they did this TalOS could feel the boundaries of worlds starting to rebuild itself around him. Pressure was being placed where the divide should be and TalOS knew that some of his soul was not where it should be. Then, for a moment of pain, it began to widen itself again.
As the pain continued the Primarch realized that he felt his body once more. His chest, on fire as the brain within it was trying to comprehend all that was happening to its soul. He gave an unearthly scream as every nerve within his body was registering what was happening to him. Muscles that were previously laxed were becoming active once again and began to tense themselves against the adamantine chains.
Such was the power of Primarch that one of the links snapped.
In an instant TalOS felt immense pain at the shifting of his body. His soul, a concept which should belong in reality, was being stretched as it was being held in the same location. Pain was everywhere and his body was near useless, but many of the machines that inhabited it were quickly activating as they were told by something outside what the issue was.
In an instant the Nanomachines induced movement within the muscles and shot them forward to grip the shattered chains. As the muscles reached forward and tightened a grip upon the links the area around TalOS began to glow a subtle green.
It was then that TalOS felt numerous failsafes fail and issues beginning to wreck systems. These were not the systems of Xana, but of those across the galaxy which held something far grander than him back.
Then TalOS felt his consciousness carried throughout the universe. He felt the motive force flow and the cosmic intentions of the True Gods made clear. The Tech Priest realized for this moment and this moment alone that he was seeing what the Machine God sees. He realized, just for this moment, that he was seeing it because he was eating at the sentiance which gripped his soul.
Upon that realization TalOS held back his soul’s bite just long enough for the sentience to release him. Casted away from the Heavens, TalOS felt his body again for the first time.
He hung there, his body both degrading and regenerating as the Nano Machines attempted to fix what the Arcane previously sustained. Before his body and Machine Spirits suspended his animation, TalOS welcomed the knowledge that he was alive.
