Nariko and your dumb sister decided to face the wrath of Mamariko, naively thinking it couldn’t be that bad for them. You wish them luck, they’re gonna need it. Once they’re gone, you inform Punk-P that your chat will be held inside the kitchen — as you must cook some Chicken Wings for Huge Irma! She already got a hint of that during all the silly events transpiring, so she isn’t that bothered! Yu Yan and Crossbill will hang around, but they were politely asked not to derail the conversation too much (You gotta be realistic.)
Back at the Huge Kitchen to prepare a Huge Meal… You’re the one doing the cooking…
“Sorry about all that. I’m trying to be as efficient as possible.” You apologize for appearing disinterested with all the work you’re doing.
“You’re surprisingly resourceful, Mr. Manager.” Shockingly, Punk-P doesn’t take offense. Your display of skill in the kitchen has caught her eye.
“He’s passionate about it. You can see the flame in his eyes.” Crossbill enjoys watching too, despite that flame being Philonune floating in front of you.
“These are going to be spicy, so don’t get too excited unless that’s your thing too.” You say. “You gotta tell me what you like to eat after we’re done talking.”
“I'd rather drop hints. Make you work for it!” Punk-P wants to find ways to positively incite you, in case this partnership continues.
“Girl, I commend you for not choosing the fatty ways, but this man can cook. You’re the one missing out.” Yu Yan doesn’t often publicly praise you for your food because Nariko does it all the time. So this is one of those rare occurrences.
“I’m sure! But all I want to see is his effort. Sweat and tears!” Punk-P has a strict diet anyway.
“Then you gotta be honest with me.” You mean it in more ways than one. “I’m all ears.”
“Do you still want us to continue where we left off?” Punk-P wants to know if she needs to answer if she’s the culprit behind the agency ‘acting on its own.’
“I want to hear what’s on your mind. Why are you doing what you’re doing.” You want to keep it simple.
“Mr. Manager, an intelligent boss knows when to step aside and let their employees run the show. I’m saving you trouble, and I’m saving myself the headache.” Pumpkin Pie puts it in simple terms. To her, you’re another obstacle.
“And what can I do to change your perception? How do you want me to help?” You turn to her. “If I’m not here facilitating your job, what are we doing here?”
“What are we doing, indeed…” Punk-P lingers on your words.
“So?” You need a straight answer.
“Step aside and reap the benefits. The staff we have is all I need. Easy enough, right?” Punk-P means it.
While brute forcing yourself into the situation is an unwise decision, you believe you have a lot to offer here.
